Father's Day - 5 Rubs & a Hot Sauce & Hot Salt


You get 5 summer BBQ rubs, a spicy salt, and your choice of 1 hot sauce!

Spice Collection of 5 BBQ rubs (no salt) 

BBQ Rub (90g) - This rub smells and tastes like summer grilling. It can be used on vegetables, on meat, and on fish ( especially shrimp and salmon). It can also be made into sauce - watch the video here

Steak Rub (90g) - A delicious combination on steak, but equally delicious on chicken. Try it on cabbage steaks as well.

Chicken Rub (85g) - This rub is prefect for chicken breasts or wings. You can use the same technique to make a sauce as with the BBQ rub. HINT -Try it with mango juice instead of pineapple!

Fish Rub ( 80g) - This bright, lemony fish rub is great on any seafood, chicken or pork. It can be put in mayonnaise as a sauce for grilled fish, or put on the fish directly. Try it on salmon.

Chimichurri (50g) - One of my summer favourites. This smoky, herby, spicy blend adds flavour to mayonnaise as a dip, meat as a rub, it is great on eggplant and portobello mushrooms for grilling. Argentinian tri tip steak is also delicious.

These rubs contain no salt or sugar or fillers. To use them as a dry rub you should add kosher salt. You may also use these blends in marinades.

Ontario Hot Sauce 

PINEAPPLE HABANERO - The most recent offering and their spiciest to date! They have collaborated with an Ontario craft brewery, this time from the town of Thunder Bay. Made with the help of Sleeping Giant Brewery’s award winning Beaver Duck session IPA, this sauce has a boldly pronounced fruitiness and a bright but savoury vibe from start to finish. They feel this is their hottest sauce yet, you can still expect a very approachable balance of heat and flavour, a Heartbeat signature characteristic! 6/10

HABANERO - The sauce that started it all. They’ve taken the naturally balanced heat and flavour of red habaneros, the sweetness of bell peppers and the brightness of fresh lime juice to create the most versatile hot sauce possible. Fermented in small batches and entirely hand made without the use of thickening agents, preservatives or added water. Bring new life to all your favourite foods both savoury and sweet. 5/10

BLUEBERRY HABANERO - This special edition of the original Red Habanero is loaded with real blueberries and made with the help of Forgotten Lake Blueberry Ale from Lake of the Woods Brewery. Purposely not too sweet! It will taste harmonious with any savoury flavours you might be cooking with (but also pairs well with dessert) Medium heat, stunning colour alongside that signature Heartbeat texture. 6/10

JALAPENO - An addition to the Heartbeat Hot Sauce lineup, a slightly milder offering made with fresh jalapeño and fermented serrano peppers to give that signature Heartbeat flavour and perfectly balanced heat. As with the original Red Habanero, they’ve produced this without the use of any preservatives, thickening agents, extracts and no added water, giving you a pure and natural hot sauce that’s all flavour and can be enjoyed on practically anything! 3.5/10
