This is The Spice Trader's unique blend of ITALIAN HERBS, designed to bring the perfect balance to your Italian dishes.
This blend of rosemary, thyme, oregano, basil, and garlic is bright, aromatic, and full of flavour.
Here is a recipe for a roasted tomato sauce.
This sauce can be spooned over grilled portobello mushrooms, meatballs, or pasta.
- 4 large ripe tomatoes
- 1 chopped onion
- 1 tsp chili flakes optional
- 2 tbsp Italian herbs
- 2 tsp of minced garlic
- 4 tbsp olive oil
- Salt and pepper
Cut the tomatoes in half.Place them on a baking tray and sprinkle with 1 tbsp Italian herbs and minced garlic. Drizzle with olive oil.Bake in the oven until the tomatoes are soft and the skins have blackened slightly.Cool the tomatoes before peeling and chopping.Heat the olive oil in a frying pan and add the rest of the Italian herbs, along with the onion and chili flakes. Cook for 5 minutes before adding the tomatoes and lower the heat. Allow the flavours to infuse for 10 minutes. Add salt and pepper to taste.
You can garnish with fresh basil and parmesan cheese.
