CHICORY ROOT ROASTED
The CHICORY plant has many parts that are edible. The leaves are called endive and are used in salads, and the root is dried and then roasted. The flavour of the root is a slightly bitter roasted warm flavour. It is often mixed with coffee in several European counties. Some will mix it with dairy to create a CHICORY flavoured yogurt or cream, and It is sometimes used on its own as a hot drink. It is also used in baking.
