STAR ANISE is a beautiful star-shaped spice. Native to China and Vietnam, it has a strong, spicy liquorice flavour. Star anise is the fruit of the evergreen magnolia tree and has been used in China for over 3000 years.
SUGGESTED USES: STAR ANISE goes well with fatty foods such as pork & duck. It can also be used in biscuits, cakes and poached fruits. Star Anise is always found in CHINESE FIVE SPICE and is a key ingredient in a Chinese master stock.
