BIRD'S EYE CHILIS (PIRI PIRI) are from Africa. They have a lovely taste and are very hot. They are small, red, thin chilis that contribute a lot of heat and flavour when added to food. They are ideal for chili grinders, as they grind well. Try putting a couple along with a lemon in the cavity of a chicken before roasting. 9/10 on the heat scale. Birdseye chilis are typically used in Portuguese Piri Piri.
