Salsa Verde Recipe:
10 fresh tomatillos, husks removed,1 avocado - peeled, pitted, and diced,1⁄4 onion, chopped, 2 tsp ancho chili powder,1 clove garlic,2 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro, 1 pinch salt to taste .
Combine tomatillos, avocado, 1/4 onion, ancho powder, 1 clove garlic, and 2 tablespoons cilantro; blend until smooth. Season salsa verde with salt.
ANCHO CHILI PEPPERS are dried poblanos chilis. They have a sweet, slightly smoky flavour, with a mild heat. They are used extensively in Mexican Cuisine, and make up one third of the "holy trinity" of chili peppers used in mole sauce. These chilis can be rehydrated or left dry then ground into a powder.
