AMCHUR (Amchoor) is native to India.
It is the ground powder of the green unripe mango. It is mostly used as a souring agent. Amchur has a fruity sour flavour, and is a good substitute for lemon juice, as it has naturally occurring citric acid. It also acts as an enzymatic tenderizer in marinades for meat and poultry. It reminds me of fun dip.
