BIRD'S EYE CHILIS (PIRI PIRI) are from Africa. They have a lovely taste and are very hot. They are small red thin chilis that add a lot of heat and flavour when added to food. They are ideal for chili grinders, as they grind well. Try putting a couple with a lemon in the cavity of a roast chicken. (8/10 on the heat scale.) Birdseye chill is typically used in Portuguese Piri Piri.
