This chili is also know as chile bola. CASCABEL means rattle in Spanish, and you can hear a rattling sound when  shaken.

The flavours of this chili are: a little smoky and woodsy, with  tobacco and nutty tones. It gets more earthy when roasted.

It is wonderful added to salsas, sauces, soups, and stews.  It is often included in sauces made with tomatoes or tomatillos. HEAT 4-5
