End of Summer Berry Compote
Ingredients:
Any berries ( you can also add cut up , peeled apple)
Cardamom Sugar ( or Lavender)*
Thyme
Water
Directions:
Place your fruit in a pot on the stove, add enough water ( measure the amount of water) to cover the berries. Add half the amount of sugar to water. Add 1/4 tsp thyme to 2 cups of berries.
Now turn the heat to low and let everything cook together, stir occasionally to nothing sticks to the bottom and let simmer for at least 20/30 minutes. Keep stirring and cooking until the compote has thickend.
USE on yogurt in the morning, or with grilled chicken, or on a cheese plate.
* You can also use honey if you don't have sugar. Try it with hot honey for some spice.
