CHIPOTLE CHILIS are actually smoked jalapeño peppers. They date back to the times of the Aztecs; smoking was a way of preserving ripened jalapeño peppers. This chili has all the heat of the Jalapeño, plus a beautiful sweet, smoky flavour, with notes of tobacco and chocolate.
Try adding to mayonnaise for a great tasting dip, or to a big pot of chili con carne for a lovely smoky flavour! Whole chilis can be used either dried by grinding into a powder, or they can be rehydrated.
