Day 24 - Karak Chay
I am a lesser known version of ‘tea’, and very popular in the gulf region.
This is my new favourite drink.
Chay is the Persian word for tea - we have had customers describe a delicious milky cardamom sweet Karak tea flavoured with saffron and rose.
We create this with sugar, decaf black tea, cardamom, saffron, and rose.
1 tsp per cup - add boiling water let steep for 2 minutes and add hot, foamy milk. It is a warming, delicious treat to have before bed, or in the morning. I add a black tea bag if I have it in the morning.
It is ground, but you can use a strainer if you prefer.
