JUNIPER BERRIES

OPTIONS

JUNIPER BERRIES are native to the Mediterranean, Russia, and Norway. Their flavour is piney with notes of turpentine, and they are most famous for their use in the making of gin. Juniper berries add great flavour to gamey meats like venison, and also help to cut the fattiness of duck dishes.

RECIPE: Salmon with Juniper Recipe

SUGGESTED USES: As the berries are quite soft we suggest you bruise them before using to release their full flavour. Try adding some to a barbecue sauce when cooking strong flavoured meats, or freeze them and add them to a martini!
