Native to the Mediterranean region, LAVENDER is a beautiful purple flower that came into culinary use in the seventeenth century. It is dried and separated from its stem, and was originally used, along with other edible flowers, to flavour icings and sugars. It is one of the traditional ingredients in HERBES DE PROVENCE. We only use culinary grade lavender.
SUGGESTED USES: Lavender has become increasingly popular, and is great on roasted sweet potatoes, lamb chicken or baked into shortbread cookies. Use sparingly as it can be overpowering.
