Chocolate Dot Cookies

This recipe is from my Grandmother.

All of her 13 grandchildren LOVED these cookies , and is was such a treat when she would bake them.

Having the recipe in her handwriting is so special.

Ingredients

1/2 cup of butter (unsalted)

1/2 cup brown sugar

1/2 cup white sugar

1 egg beaten

1 1/4 cup sifted flour

1/2 tsp salt

1 tsp baking powder

2 Tbsp milk

1/2 tsp vanilla extract

1/2 cup chopped nuts ( optional)

1 bar (8 oz) semi sweet chocolate

Directions

Cut the chocolate into 1/4 - 1/8 inch sq

Cream the butter with the sugar and mix in a well beaten egg.

Sift the flour add the salt and baking powder and sift together twice!

Then add the flour mixture alternately withe milk to the butter mixture - beating smooth with each addition. Then add chocolate ( nuts if using) and the vanilla.

Drop half a teaspoon on a greased cookie sheet and bake at 375º/400º for 10-12 minutes.

Makes 60 cookies.
