THANKSGIVING BREAD STUFFING

    THANKSGIVING BREAD STUFFING

    I love stuffing!

I could eat mostly stuffing with sides of Turkey and vegetables. Here is my recipe.

This recipe serves 8-10 generous helpings, so adjust the recipe to suit your numbers.

     Ingredients:

2 loaves of bread chopped and toasted*

2 cups of chicken stock - heated

3 cups orange juice - heated

4 Tbsp of The Spice Trader's STUFFING MIX

    1 Onion chopped

    Salt & Pepper

Optional: raisins, cranberries, walnuts, chopped apple.

    Directions:

*Chop into cubes and toast the bread – you can cut the fresh bread into cubes and spread them on a cookie tray. Place them in a 250º oven and toast.

(You can make your toasted cubes the day before)

Chop and sauté the onion. Place the Stuffing Mix in a small bowl and pour in ½ cup of the heated orange juice over the spices. Let them stand for 10 minutes.

Slowly pour the rest of the orange juice and the heated chicken stock over the toasted bread. Let the bread absorb the liquid and mix it in.

Add the sautéed onion and if using any additional optional ingredients add them now. Add salt and freshly ground pepper to taste.

Place the stuffing in a roasting pan or cake pan and place in the preheated 350º oven – let it cook for around 1 ½ hours. Some people like to make balls of stuffing and place them on a cooking sheet and bake them that way. This makes it easier to serve.
