    Matcha Cake with Vanilla Buttercream

    CAKE

    2 3/4 cups flour ( I used GF)

    3tsp baking soda

    1/4 tsp salt

    1 1/3 cups of sugar

    2 1/2 Tbsp Matcha Powder

    1 cup butter, room temp.

    4 eggs

    1 cup milk

    ICING

    2 cups unsalted butter

    3 3/4 cups icing sugar

    1  1/2 tsp vanilla extract

    1/8 tsp kosher salt

    Directions

    pre heat oven to 350º

    Mix flour, baking powder, salt, and matcha powder in a bowl.

    Using an electric mixer, beat butter until soft and then add sugar and continue mixing. Add eggs one at a time and stir in vanilla extract.

    Mix alternately matcha mixture, and milk into the wet ingredients.

    Put batter into greased 9 inch spring pan and bake for 45 minutes.

    Let cake cool before icing.

    For icing, simply mix butter, and icing sugar until smooth, then add vanilla, and salt and combine.

    Ice cake and enjoy!
