    Nut Crumbs

    Nut crumbs instead of bread crumbs
    You can use different nuts but I love walnuts.

    1 cup raw nuts ( you can use a blend of almonds, cashew, walnuts or 1 nut)
    1/2 tsp spice (see below for my favourites)
    1/4 tsp salt
    1/4 tsp black pepper

    Pulse altogether until you have a nut meal - the coarseness is entirely personal.
    Keep in a freezer friendly container for freshness

    HOW TO USE

    SPICES

    Hot Smoked Paprika - great on top of mac & cheese or baked ziti
    Italian Herbs - perfect for fish ( remember to add a little evoo so the nuts will stick)
    Herbs de Provence - great for au gratin potatoes or scalloped potatoes
    Baharat - wonderful on stuffed eggplant or squash.

    You can also sautée in a pan with a little olive oil and add to salads, rice bowls, or steamed veggies.

    REMEMBER THAT NUTS MAY TOAST QUICKER THAN BREADCRUMBS SO KEEP AN EYE AND USE FOIL IF NEEDED.
