            Lemon Olive Oil Cake with Turmeric, Ginger Sugar!

A beautiful balance of earthiness, spice, heat and sweet.

Our flavoured sugars are great additions to lattés, and teas, but really shine in baking and savoury cooking. 

Our turmeric, ginger sugar also has a little black pepper. This is for your golden lattes, your smoothies, or your sauteed veggies.

Here is a recipe for lemon olive oil & turmeric, ginger sugar cake.

Ingredients

2 eggs

Grated zest of 1 lemon & 1 orange

3/4 cup of granulated sugar

1/2 cup of turmeric ginger sugar

3/4 cup of milk

3/4 cup of lemon olive oil 

1 1/4 cups all purpose flour

1/2 tsp baking powder

1/2 tsp baking soda

pinch of salt

1 lemon - Thinly sliced

Directions

Preheat the oven to 350º

Line a 9 inch round cake pan with parchment paper. Oil the sides with a little olive oil and dust with flour. Stir eggs, zest, sugar, milk, and olive oil in a medium bowl. In a another bowl mix the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt together. Stir the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients until combined. Pour the batter into a cake pan, top with sliced lemons and bake for 40 -50 minutes until a tester comes out clean. Let it cool for 10 minutes and then turn it out on a rack.
